Greening Taupo Planting Day on the Rotary Ride

Wow, what an amazing turn out and what a beautiful day for Saturday’s planting event thanks to the amazing Greening Taupō. Their passion and commitment makes a real difference to our environment and community.

With 1,800 native plants to get in the ground and loads of gear to move along the Rotary Ride, Bruce and Pete from Bike Taupo were absolute legends, doing multiple quad runs but it took a special bunch of people to get those plants in the ground!

A huge shoutout to all the amazing volunteers who rode in and showed up with their tools and their gloves. It was especially heartening to see so many young kids out there doing the mahi, learning the value of looking after our whenua and having fun while doing it. These kinds of days are what community is all about.

Is it even a planting day without a BBQ? how good did those sausages look? The perfect way to wrap up a morning of hard work!

When community groups like ours come together with a common purpose, we create something much bigger than any of us could do alone. Here’s to more native plants, more trails, and more collaboration!
