Regular Night Rides
The Taupo Mountain Bike Club runs a regular Thursday evening social night ride, through the winter months of April to October. Members and non-members are all welcome. You do need to have a reasonable level of skill and fitness, and good halogen night lights, and an effective taillight. But within that requirement, the various levels of ability are catered for, by dividing into groups as appropriate. Meet at 6.00 pm each Thursday evening at Cycle World bike shop, on Lower Spa Road. The ride normally goes to Spa Park, out the Rotary Ride track to Huka Falls, up one of the link tracks to Wairakei Forest, more or less tracks in the Forest, and return to town either by State Highway 1 or via the Rotary Ride track once more. Cycle helmet and a sense of fun essential! Get into it, kiwis! |
