From the Hub Café ride into the Tunnel Track, turn right onto the Wairakei Resort track. Follow the signs all the way to the steam bridge (pop in for a coffee at the hotel if you like). Cross the steam bridge duck into the gum tress on the right and it will spit you out at the lookout above the power station.
Track down the road and keep going straight ahead through the big pipe gates. The lake will appear on your right. This track goes all the way to the dam. Cross the dam and head back up the DoC track to Huka Falls, then back up to the Hub Café |
