Bike Taupo - Opening WHANGAMATA TRACK

Work will only be happening Monday to Friday and the track will be usable over the weekends, likely from about 4pm on Fridays. The track will sustain damage from dragging logs and slash during the week and will not be fully repaired for each weekend - reasonable endeavours will be made to have a rough ridable route through the logging site between top of the climb out from Ladder Bridge and the Huka Lodge downhill/uphill junction.

The track will be physically blocked either side of the logging area at the top of the climb from Ladder Bridge and on the Huka uphill

WHANGAMATA STREAM TRACK OFFICIAL OPENING Sunday 27^th of December 2009 - including annual Kinloch Plod Registration, Official Opening and Start at the Middle Bridge (not at Kinloch Hall) Signposted from Kinloch Road Registration from 8.30am $5 per person or $10 per family (any number) Official Opening of the New Track 9am Light refreshments on completion of Plod All welcome! A joint venture between Kinloch Community Association and the Department of Conservation
